Daily Word eBook Resources

There are many eReader devices and applications. Thus there are many ways in which to load your Daily Word eBook onto these devices. Below are some resources to help you with your device or application. If your device or application is not listed, or if you have a better way than what is in the instructions below, leave a comment with your suggestions, findings, requests or recommendations.

Open your Daily Word eBook in:

iBooks (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) – ePUB = recommended format

Option 1:

  1. On your device, open the email with the download link.
  2. Touch the link to open the file.
  3. Select “Open in iBooks” when prompted.

Option 2:

  1. Download ePUB and PDF files on your Mac or PC.
  2. Add them to your iTunes library choosing File > Add to Library, or drag the ePub or PDF file to the Books library in iTunes on your computer.
  3. To read these books, simply sync them to your device in the supported formats.

Kindle App on iOS (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) – MOBI format

Option 1: Email the Kindle(.MOBI) file:

  1. Download the Kindle (.MOBI) format eBook to your computer.
  2. Setup the Kindle email feature (usually completed at time of registration of device or app):
    • Go to your Amazon account and click the “Manage Your Kindle” link.
    • Find your Kindle name and Kindle e-mail address.
    • Update the section, “Your Kindle Approved Email List” to include the address from which you will be sending the eBook.
  3. Attach the eBook to an email message and send it to your Kindle’s email address.
  4. Your Daily Word eBook is automatically transferred to your Kindle or Kindle App.

Option 2: Transfer by connecting your iOS device to your computer:

  1. Download the Kindle (.MOBI) format eBook to your computer
  2. Ensure you have the latest iTunes software (itunes.com) loaded on your computer.
  3. Using a USB/charging cable, connect your iOS device to the computer.
  4. Open iTunes on your computer and locate your device.
  5. Locate and select the Apps menu item.
  6. Drag and drop the .MOBI file from the download location to your “documents” area.
  7. Your Daily Word eBook will automatically show up in your Kindle App.

 

Kindle devices

Option 1: Transfer by connecting your Kindle to your computer:

  1. Download the Kindle (.MOBI) format file to your computer.
  2. Using a Kindle USB/charging cable, connect your Kindle to the computer.
  3. Drag and drop the file to your Kindle’s “documents” folder, using your computer’s file browser.
  4. When done, eject the Kindle’s disk icon (right-click on the icon and choose “Eject.”).

Option 2: Email the Kindle(.MOBI) file:

  1. Setup the Kindle email feature (usually completed at time of registration of device or app):
    • Go to your Amazon account and click the “Manage Your Kindle” link.
    • Find your Kindle name and Kindle e-mail address. Add “free” to the email address, following this example: Your_name@free.kindle.com.
    • To avoid spam, only contacts on your Kindle approved email list can send attachments to your Kindle. Update the section, “Your Kindle Approved Email List” to include the address from which you will be sending the links.
  2. Download the MOBI format file to your computer.
  3. Attach the file to an email message and send it to your Kindle’s email address (e.g. name@free.kindle.com). Reference: http://www.amazon.com/gp/sendtokindle/email
  4. Your Daily Word eBook is automatically transferred to your Kindle or Kindle App.

 

PDF application:

  1. Download the PDF format file to your computer.
  2. Open the document using your PDF application.
